Welcome to Rayne Cottage

Rayne Cottage complex is situated in the beautiful Eden Valley. It comprises 2 luxury self catering cottages, a quiet and secluded caravan park and a 16th century traditional working Cumbrian farm offering guided visits and the opportunity to adopt a farm animal. Farm produce is also available from the farm shop. Although secluded and peaceful Rayne Cottage is only 2 miles from junction 38 on the M6 so is not only accessible but ideally located for enjoyment of the nearby Lake District National Park to the west, the Eden Valley extending east and the Yorkshire Dales to the south east.

Rayne Bridge Caravan Park

Rayne Bridge Caravan Park offers visitors the opportunity to enjoy a relaxing visit amid tranquil Cumbrian countryside. The park is small, offering just 5 pitches for tourers, motorhomes and tents. It has limited facilities but fresh water, flush toilet, CD point and battery charging services are available.

With the River Lune on one side and wooded slopes on the other Rayne Bridge Caravan Park provides a rural environment that caters for those wanting a quiet and peaceful break. Guests are welcome to visit our farm at nearby Rayne Cottage which dates from the 16th century and we will willingly introduce children to the animals.

To enhance your arrival we can arrange for milk, bread and papers to be ready for you. We also offer packed lunches and can provide evening meals by arrangement. Typically we offer cottage pie, beef and ale pie, lamb hotpot and beef/vegetable lassagne. All our produce is sourced locally with meat and eggs originating directly from our farm. We will do our utmost to cater for specific dietery requirements.

The Howgills are on our doorstep offering superb walking opportunities in Wainwright country. In addition there are many local rambles to be enjoyed such as nearby Smardale where a nature reserve has been created in the vicinity of the disused Tebay-Darlington railway line. Brown trout, sea trout and salmon fishing can be enjoyed in season in the River Lune. Golf is available in nearby Ravenstonedale. There are traditional Cumbrian pubs in nearby villages such as Orton, Tebay and Ravenstonedale where bar meals and restaurant facilities are available.
