Rayne Cottage is situated at Gaisgill, near Orton and Tebay in a peaceful and unspoilt area of Cumbria. It lies between the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales national parks. Although quiet and secluded Rayne Cottage is easily accessed from the M6 and from the A1.

From the M6

Exit the M6 at junction 38 (Tebay) and take the A685 east towards Kirkby Stephen. After about 2 miles take the second road on the left signposted to Raisebeck and Kelleth (note that Gaisgill is signposted down a road on the right but do not go this way). After a short drive the road crosses the River Lune. Rayne Bridge Caravan Park is immediately on the left after crossing the bridge. Rayne Cottage is a further half mile along the road on the left. The farm buildings are on the right side of the road opposite Rayne Cottage .

From the A1

Take the A66 west from Scotch Corner to Brough. Turn south at Brough on the A685. Follow the A685 through Kirkby Stephen. Continue past Newbiggin-on-Lune. About 4 miles past Newbiggin-on-Lune turn right on a road signposted to Raisebeck and Kelleth. After a short drive the road crosses the River Lune. Rayne Bridge Caravan Park is immediately on the left after crossing the bridge. Rayne Cottage is a further half mile along the road on the left. The farm buildings are on the right side of the road opposite Rayne Cottage .
